Recent Favourites: Tried, Tested, and Loved

I can't really tally up my favourites monthly or weekly because ultimately, if I did that, they'd be extremely repetitive.

So, I like to share my favourites when I have a decent handful of new things that I've tried and tested, and that have snuck their way into my daily routine.

Lip Glaze Sheer Gloss

See this content in the original post

Starting strong with the Vanity Lip Glaze. It is a gorgeous, plush, but thin, beautifully emollient, sheer gloss.

It has a hint of pink—barely—just enough to give the lips a healthier, happier look. It’s a skincare-infused formula, and it is so stunning.

I want to compare it to Summer Fridays, but honestly, I (personally) think it’s better than Summer Fridays.

What takes it over the line for me is the ceramic tip on it, which isn’t metal, but it’s still cooling, and it feels very luxe and sleek.

I’m a real sucker for it. It’s got a very subtle vanilla flavour, which I know my friends are fussy about scent and taste are going to really appreciate.

Prota Squalane Face Cleanser

Shop: Squalane Face Cleanser, $27.95

Next up is the Prota Squalene Cleanser. It’s pretty hard to get me off my Holy Grail of cleansers because they are reliable, and cleansing really does make or break a skincare routine.

As we all know, my skin is very acne-prone. The Prota Cleanser is a prebiotic gel cleanser infused with squalene, preventatin, kakadu palm, and manuka oil. It is also generously charged with aloe juice.

It’s lovely and non-stripping, and it was a joy to start trialling this month.

It’s got that gorgeous bouncy texture, and what I love about Prota, even though it is a new brand for me and it is early days, gosh, the packaging is so sleek and cute, and I don’t think you tend to get that at this price point, so I’m really quite happy and impressed.

The Ordinary Face and Body Niacinamide Emulsion

See this content in the original post

This has become my morning and night niacinamide step.

I do like to have a dedicated niacinamide step—usually, it’s at a high percentage— I do also have a few high-percentage niacinamides coming into the mail for trialling (stay tuned!), but this has made my skin really happy.

I can be very generous with it, and I find myself going out of my way to take it down my neck just because it says body on the bottle.

It’s at a five percent strength for niacinamide, which is definitely a proven percentage, and it’s making my skin happy, so five stars.

Boring Without You Milk Serum

Next is the Boring Without You Milk Serum. This just provides a really lovely slip on the skin.

It’s such a big bottle, so I’m using it as a serum and a hydrating toner, and I’m layering it up multiple times for happy skin.

It’s very nice, it’s fragrance-free, it’s easy to use, and it’s got a little bit of polyglutamic acid, which makes me feel better mentally about the fact that I’m not regularly exfoliating with a harsh exfoliator.

Embryolisse Lait Creme Sensitive Cream

Next up is the Embryolisse Lait Creme Sensitive Cream. I do like the original, but the sensitive’s kind of made its way back into my heart.

I can remember almost half a decade ago starting to use a sensitive tube.

I remember I was sent it because the absolutely gorgeous woman that takes care of the Embryolisse PR saw that I had very sensitive, reactive, acne-prone skin, and I felt really lost at that time with my acne.

This was one of the first moisturisers I started using that was just kind to my skin and didn’t make it react.

I’m really so happy it’s back in my routine once again. I’ve missed it.

Shop: Embryolisse Lait Creme Sensitive Cream, $36.95

NOUGHTY Frizz Magic Serum

Bit of a weird one, don’t hold me to it, but I’m going to give you two hair things, and it’s because I use them all the time, and they make my hair smell like fruit tingles.

First up is the NOUGHTY Frizz Magic Serum. I got this ages ago at a Priceline prescription event, and it’s one of the only hair products I use.

I’m a simple girl, and I’m not going to tell you to take my hair recommendations too seriously because I’m not a hair care girlie, but this is a gorgeous, sweet-smelling, fun-printed, no-frizz serum.

I apply it through my hair when it’s damp, and it significantly reduces the frizz that I have in my hair, so if you’re someone that likes to air-dry your hair or be really low-effort, this is wonderful, and it’s just at Priceline.

Shop: NOUGHTY Frizz Magic Serum, $18.99

Tangle Teaser Brush

Shop: Tangle Teaser Brush, $30

I love my Tangle Teaser brush, and I use it every time I brush my hair.

It’s never steered me wrong, and I have a new appreciation for it because I had previously oiled my scalp a few times and also did some DIY hair dyeing jobs.

My lovely black Tangle Teaser not only went through the hair dye process and the oiling process, but it’s such a robust brush because it’s plastic. It’s just so easy to clean.

Sephora Collection 06 Blush

Next up is the Sephora Collection 06 Blush. It’s a pink that has a slight cool blue pop undertone to it.

Gosh, it just feels nice to wear a powder blush again. It’s a matte finish as well, which always makes me a bit suspect. Is it going to skip on the skin? Is it going to be patchy?

But all those worries melted away when this formula blended beautifully on the apples of my cheeks. I did record a try-on, if you’re curious or you’re a visual learner.

St Jack Cosmetic Cleaning Mist

Shop:St Jack Cosmetic Cleaning Mist, $33

I have once again finished another bottle of the St Jack Cosmetic Cleaning Mist. The chokehold that this product has on me.

I’ve been a consistent repurchaser for five years, and I’m not going to sit here and pretend that it’s the most affordable either, but I do adore it.

And I tend to finish bottles back to back because I keep one in my bedroom to sanitise little odds and ends. Honestly, sometimes I use it to sanitise my phone.

And then I keep one in my beauty room to sanitise either skincare bottles or makeup or spot-clean brushes.

Wispy Information Max Hold Hair Wand

Shop: Wispy Information Max Hold Hair Wand, $23.99

The Wispy Information Max Hold Hair Wand is great.

I really like their wax as well, and that definitely deserves its spot in a favourite soon. But I feel like this wand won me over at the end of the month for a slot.

It’s because you can be really particular with just hitting down that one wiry hair, all those few little bits of hair that you don’t want to touch.

All those few flyaways that are up, which I found really great.

Naked Sundays Top-Up Mist

A new love that’s re-entered the building again is the Naked Sundays Top-Up Mist.

Again, another half-decade-long love affair with this product, but I’ve recently revisited with absolute joy that somehow the formula and the product just improves year after year.

Every time mist technology improves, they’re improving the mister. It’s honestly the finest mist that I’ve ever used, and I’ve used a lot of setting mists.

Dermal Therapy Tinted Lip Balms

See this content in the original post

We’ll take a quick stop at the chemist for the Dermal Therapy Tinted Lip Balms. They’re new. I did a try-on of all the colours, and they are lovely. I’m so glad they did this.

I think they’ve made a lot of people happy with this, and my absolute wish list would be three more nude shades. But I’ve also done a full review of that, so I’ll link that below.

Glow Lab Hydrating Conditioner and Shampoo & Exfoliating AHA BHA, Passion Fruit and Guava Active Body Wash

Shop: Glow Lab Hydrating Conditioner and Shampoo

Last but definitely not least, the category that probably gets the least love: the things that go into my shower and are used up in my shower.

They tend to just be out of sight, out of mind when I’m filming content.

But I’ve now emptied the Glow Lab Hydrating Conditioner and Shampoo with the purple label, and I’ve just started on the Exfoliating AHA BHA, Passion Fruit and Guava Active Body Wash.

Shop: Exfoliating AHA BHA, Passion Fruit and Guava Active Body Wash

What I love about Glow Lab is not only do they go half-price, but they’re also at your local supermarket, which means you can spoil yourself and really enjoy something, and it really doesn’t break the bank.

Now they’ve introduced some real active body washes with the Active Body Wash, as well as a Seating Body Wash with a Tonka Bean and Vanilla.

Yes, the heart wanted to go for the Tonka Bean and Vanilla first, but my sweaty armpits forced me to go for the Active Body Wash to hopefully fight off any excess BO that I’m going to battle over summer and any spots that are popping up on the back.

Thanks For Reading!

That’s my current favourites recap, and I’ll absolutely check back in when I have another list to share. Thank you for reading!
