Creatives rejoice! A fully renovated warehouse space designed specifically with photography, content creation and event hire in mind has opened in North Brissy.

As appreciators of gorgeous photography and creative opportunities, White Rabbit Social is asking the team from Storie Studio about their set up and what people can expect when using their space.

1. What's The Story Behind Storie Studio?

Krystal, our founder, started Chekoh, a leading baby carrier brand, 10 years ago this month!

Being a brand, we realised that there was a lack of curated spaces to shoot in our area, so we essentially started Storie Studio for ourselves- but saw an opportunity to help support other local brands and creators in a similar situation.

2. Where is Storie Studio?

We are located North of Brisbane on the beautiful Redcliffe Peninsula- (Address: 42 Storie Street, Clontarf QLD 4019)

Bonus points? The Studio is just a 2min walk from your nearest coffee and snack fix at Neli Coffee.

2. What Kind of Brands Use Your Space?

The space is in its infancy and while we have just started, we've already had bookings from leading content creators from Toowoomba to the Gold Coast and wonderful likeminded small businesses from around Brisbane.

We're hoping to be able to host some fun events soon too - so stay tuned!

3. What Are Some of The Props That Brands Are Loving?

For loose props, we are finding the designer books and vases to be most popular! 

As for furniture or spots around the studio, a lot of creators are loving the movable drapes as a backdrop, the cyclorama wall for the flawless white effect and injecting a pop of colour with our red suede chair.

Just some of the props include:

• 3 x Freestanding mirrors - cream boucle, suede mushroom, black frame

• 4 x Replica Vitra Verner Ivory Chairs & 1 x Red velvet accent chair

• 1 x Travertine coffee table & 1 x Marble look coffee table

• 2.4m x 2.6 Movable Arch Platform finished in textured Bone colourway

• 2.5m x 2.4m Movable Backdrop on wheels finished with French Wash in Olive and Bone (reverse)

4. Give us Some Photography Tips From The Pros (Please)!

Everyone has a different aesthetic and eye for what works for their brand but we oftentimes find that people overlook small things that couple improve images like:

• Lighting: Ensuring your product is lit purposefully and that key features are fully visible in every image unless it is a stylistic choice.

• Angles: Whether this be model posing or something simple like shooting overhead with a step ladder as opposed to straight on - remember that different angles add variation and make for interesting composition that your competitors may not think of.  

• As a brand, we also feel that diversity is often overlooked and showing real people from all walks of life is important. 

The team finishes up letting us know that bookings are now open and they can’t wait to have everyone in the studio! 

We’re thrilled the space is so decked out and ready to use- plus having plenty of natural sunlight is a blessing us creatives can only wish for.
