Are The e.l.f. Glow Reviver Lip Oils Actually Good? Here’s a Lowdown on The Affordable Pick

Lip oils have had a major moment this year and it’s clear that isn’t slowing down any time soon.

If you’re a beauty enthusiast, chances are you’ve been on the hunt for a budget-friendly option that delivers the non-sticky shine we’re all after.

It doesn’t help that true lip oils require semi-frequent top ups because of their texture.

Enter the e.l.f. Glow Reviver Lip Oil, a vegan and cruelty-free formula that retails for around $16.

With a high-gloss finish, a sheer wash of colour, and a nourishing touch, it’s quickly become a contender in the affordable lip oil game that I’m enjoying navigating.

The Packaging of The e.l.f. Lip Oil

The first thing you’ll notice about the Glow Reviver Lip Oil is its packaging.

Unlike some affordable brands that mimic high-end designs (often poorly), e.l.f. has gone for a clean, stylish look that doesn’t feel like a knock-off.

Plus, it’s practical.

I do really appreciate squared edges. I’m convinced it makes a difference when you have fleshly moisturised hands or mobility restraints.

The applicator dough foot itself is extra-large and plush, giving you that satisfying, cushiony feel when applying that all the high end lip oils offer and have made iconic.

Why is The e.l.f. Glow Reviver Lip Oil Popular?

One of the standout features of this lip oil is its formula that’s a blend of Apricot, Squalane, Avocado, Jojoba and Pomegranate oil to keep your lips nourished and soft.

The texture leans more towards a traditional lip oil rather than a hybrid lip gloss, which is refreshing in a market full of products trying to be all things at once.

It’s non-sticky, lightweight, and leaves a comfortable glossy finish on the lips.

I personally see the mass appeal, I’d be shocked if someone hated the product. It’s a well balanced catch all, but let’s dive into the weeds a bit more.

The Pigment Level on The e.l.f. Glow Reviver Lip Oil & Swatches

Offering a sheer wash of colour, your natural lip colour will peek through, just like luxury options.

The sheerness can help enhance your natural lip tone without being overpowering for bolder colours.

The shade I’m wearing, Rose Envy, adds just the right hint of red rosey blush to give your lips which I’ve really enjoyed.

The Shades:

  • Honey Talks: A brown beige

  • Coral Fixation: Coral orange

  • Rose Envy: Rosewood

  • Crystal Clear: Clear

  • Jam Session: Black Cherry (yes, it’s giving black honey Clinique)

  • Pink Quartz: Light sheer pink

  • Red Delicious: A true red

How Long Does it Last on The Lips?

While it’s not the most long-lasting lip product, it’s so comfortable to reapply that you probably won’t mind popping it back on throughout the day.

I’m also convinced that’s part of the appeal of a lip oil and apart of the buy-in, hence why packaging is so important.

How’s The Taste & Scent of The e.l.f. Glow Reviver Lip Oil?

Another interesting detail is its scent and taste.

It has a fresh minty aroma with a slight menthol edge.

While some may enjoy this, those with a no-go for menthol like scents should probably avoid this pick, or proceed with caution.

That said, the scent isn’t overwhelming and fades relatively quickly once applied.

Who’s Going to Enjoy The e.l.f. Glow Reviver Lip Oil?

If you’re looking for an affordable lip oil that feels true to the category—lightweight, glossy, and comfortable—this one is for you.

It’s perfect for those who love a natural, low-maintenance look or enjoy layering products over lipstick for a bit of extra shine.

However, if you prioritise longevity or are after intense hydration, this may not be your best match.

Lip oils, by nature, aren’t the most long-wearing products, so if you prefer something with more staying power, consider hybrid gloss options like those from The Kind Collective.

Final Thoughts

Overall, the e.l.f. Glow Reviver Lip Oil is a lovely and affordable addition to you beauty bag.

It’s cute, functional, and delivers a true lip oil experience without trying to reinvent the wheel.

At just $16 from Kmart, it’s a budget-friendly way to tap into the lip oil trend without feeling like you’ve compromised on quality.

Is it perfect? Not quite—longevity and the menthol-adjacent taste may not suit everyone.

But if you’re someone who enjoys reapplying a product that looks and feels luxurious for less, this one’s a solid choice.

It’s a definite thumbs-up from me.

I found this in depth review video from Kitty Rodriguez that I thought was really helpful to watch the application. Check it out below!
