This Lip Oil is $7 and it’s Better Than Ones I’ve Tried Over $50 (Swatches Included)

  • The KIND Collective Hydrating Lip Oils come in 4 sheer shades (swatches below)

  • They’re long lasting and have a gel-oil like finish on the lips with a high shine

  • A new staple in my handbag, they’re a no brainer to grab on sale. Typically $14, currently $7- 50% off at Big W

You know it’s good when it lands in my handbag- amongst other holy grail lip products like the Mecca Max Sheer Lipsticks and Holme Beauty Lip Glosses.

The Kind Collective is on the makeup scene as the affordable, hard working pick at a price point you just can’t say no to. I have a few holy grails from them, but the lip oils have quickly risen to the top as my #1 pick.

Why?

They’re a oil-gel feeling, extremely comfortable on the lips.

So not a “true” bodiless oil that slips and doesn’t provide any lasting power. Truly, there’s nothing quiet as bad as a true lip oil that can’t layer on itself, they often feel like you’re literally using olive oil on your lips, haha.

The formula reminds me of the ever popular Tower 28 glosses for their texture and layer ability on the lips.

I love the shade “On The Run” (pictured above) because of the hint of pink + high shine combo. It’s enough if I’m wearing no makeup, natural makeup or even a top up for a full glam look.

For me, it’s that perfect suits everything shade, and isn’t just a clear gloss.

It also reminds me of the all popular pH colour changing lip products that just don’t quiet sit right on me personally (the pink they turn makes my teeth look yellow! Urgh!) so I do find this shade cures a bit of my FOMO for that trend.

Some swatches. I was most surprised by “Up Late” because in the tube, I suspected it wasn’t for me. The beautiful @natalieheartsthis swatches it below on her stunning lips- which I personally think helps squash any fear that the deep berry purple might be too much for an everyday pick.

What do you think? Would you wear “Up Late”?

I’m also happy to report they wear throughout the day extremely well, and I don’t tend to find myself reapplying very much at all.

I feel that’s due to the fact when I initially apply, I can get on a generous yet comfortable amount that ensures a lasting wear.

The actual look of the wear down is extremely non offensive and simply put: plush. No white gathering at the corner of the lips that we all know and hate.

From top to bottom, the shades are "Up Late" (a deep purple), "Fire Up" (a bright red), "On The Run" (a soft pink), and "Positive Vibes" (a clear gloss). The swatches are applied vertically and captured under natural lighting, highlighting the different textures and finishes of the lip products.

Now! The taste / scent. It’s a true raspberry scent, iconic and very obvious, but not overly sugary sweet.

I learnt the other day that some people despise berry scented products which not only shocked me, but also made me extremely empathetic because there are lots of berry scented products out there.

So if you’re not into berry, these aren’t for you.

If you are- rejoice! It’s a true mixed berry/ raspberry scent without the overly sweet sickness.

I made a swatch video a while back, so you can see me still raving about them is a wonderful sign, haha.

Let me know what shade you might pick for yourself in the comments below!
