5 Aussie Beauty Brands That Should be on Your Radar For Black Friday

Black Friday is just around the corner, and while the world preps for some amazing deals, let’s take a moment to shine a spotlight on some hidden gems from Down Under.

Australia’s beauty scene has come a long way in recent years, with exciting formulation innovations, brand transparency and authentic inclusivity. Let’s take a look at the five Aussie beauty brands that should be on your radar for this year's Black Friday sales.

These brands have been vetted by yours truly and have been part of my daily routine for years now - so you know they’re tried and true! It’s an exciting time to fill your routine with some new favourites and save a little while you’re at it.

Holme Beauty

If I could write a love letter to any makeup brand, it would be this one.

Holme Beauty is changing the makeup game by creating accessible, inclusive and multi-use products that are designed to make you feel confident in your own skin. In an incredibly saturated market, makeup legend Hilary Holmes manages to excel in creating a unique brand that puts their customers first.

Dedicated to Inclusivity:

  • Featuring customers in product campaigns

  • Images that speak to different skin tones, ages, skin and body types

  • No retouching

  • Braille stickers for those with limited or no vision

  • Square packaging for those with limited hand mobility

  • Considered colour range that will only continue to expand with increased funding

  • Accessible makeup education for everyone

I’ve been obsessed with their ethos and products since inception and their incredible formulas deliver natural glow without fuss - what’s not to love?

Stand out products:

The Daily Co

If you’re in the market for science backed skincare that makes a difference, this one’s for you!

I’m 31 and have been using The Daily Co on a daily basis (pun intended) since 2021. I’ve received more compliments on my skin now than I ever did when I was in my 20’s! Their mantra of ‘uncompromising quality, unparalleled results’ could not be more true and everyone I have turned on to this range, has been obsessed with the results.

While they’re a little more expensive than the average skincare line, using The Daily Co’s products allowed me to scale back my personal skincare collection to just a few items that I use regularly and my skin has thanked me for it.

Simple means I do it more often and can actually SEE the results - glowy, hydrated, less pigmentation - the list goes on.

The founders behind this brand have worked in the industry for decades and have a no BS approach to education and skincare.

Don’t we love a skincare brand that is open and honest about results and efficacy?

Stand out products:

The Functional Skin

Sensitive skin queens, where you at?

The Functional Skin line has been carefully formulated by Functional Nurse, Madilyn, to help support your delicate skin barrier. All natural, cruelty-free and high quality products made in Australia.

Whenever my skin is sensitive, red or needing a break from actives, this is my go-to collection to calm everything down.

The lightweight packaging is perfect for travel and because it is suitable for all skin types, it’s great for the whole household.

Stand out products:

Beauti-Fltr

If there is one thing Australia is great at - it’s SPF.

There’s no point in shelling out all your cash on high performing actives when you’re undoing all your hard work by not wearing sun protection. It’s a non-negotiable so you might as well TRY and make it a pleasurable experience where possible.

If you’re fussy with SPF and hate wearing it, can I introduce you to Beauti-Fltr?

It is seriously a game changer and feels more like a moisturiser or makeup primer than it does a sunscreen.

With no detectable ‘sunscreen smell’, no sting, no greasiness or white-cast, this SPF has actually encouraged me (and my Mum) to wear it daily and after all, isn’t that the point of SPF?

[This is my personal opinion and is able to be shared in line with TGA regulations as I have personally purchased this sunscreen and am provided no incentive to provide this review]

Stand out product:

Ode To Self Perfumery

I know fragrance is a very personal journey, however if you’re like me - the mainstream scents give you a headache and going to David Jones is your version of a nightmare.

Here is where Ode Perfumery comes in with their modern scents made from 100% natural ingredients with no synthetics.

Developed with love by Laura, a qualified Naturopath, their scents are incredibly unique, with a mix of sensual/fresh/grounding offerings.

Everytime I wear their scents, people stop me to ask what I’m wearing.

Not sure which one is for you? They also offer sample sets to try out the full range before committing to a full size bottle.

Stand out products:

As the Black Friday frenzy heats up, these five Aussie beauty brands should be at the top of your shopping list. From skincare saviours to makeup must-haves, these are my personal favourites and I think you’ll love them too.

So get ready to treat yourself and support local brands while you’re at it - because a beauty haul this good only comes around once a year!
