Go-To Have Launched Makeup And I Couldn’t be Happier

Of course I had to talk about the makeup line from Go-To; their first official foray into colour cosmetics is something I have absolutely been waiting for.

I only have some first impressions to give you but trust me when I say I’ll be reporting back again soon.

Whether you’ve been here a moment or a while you will know of my love for Go-To. I am a long time customer and fan of the brand, so the announcement of their makeup line was very exciting indeed.

I am personally of the belief that when a skincare first brand moves into colour cosmetics, the quality of the products is usually top tier and my expectations for this launch were no less high.

Let’s run through the product lineup:

Go-To Matte Pop Blush, $26.00. A Soft-Matte Cream Blush With Skincare Ingredients

Available in three shades: Rosy, Berry and Peachy.

A whipped, mousse-like formula designed to give a real pop of colour with a matte skin finish. Skincare ingredients include collagen, hyaluronic acid and squalane.

The texture of the matte blush is bouncy, works very well when applied with fingers and is an incredibly forgiving formula.

You get a very watercolour style wash of pigment that doesn’t make the skin look flat but instead just melts into the cheek. The colour is there but it’s still got that natural touch to it. Or just build it up more if that’s your vibe, the option really is yours.

Go-To Glowy Blush, $26.00. A Lightweight Liquid Blush for a Natural Glow

Available in three shades: Rosy, Berry and Peachy.

A liquid blush formula with a glowy formula. Less opaque than the matte but still providing a beautiful wash of colour.

Skincare ingredients include niacinamide, squalane and hyaluronic acid.

Going in with the glowy liquid blush next, it is definitely it’s own product and not just a liquid version of the matte.

I liked it best when warmed up on the back of the hand and buffed in a bit with a brush, which is my preferred way to work with a liquid formula. The glow is there without being shimmery so it works well as a no-makeup makeup style blush.

Go-To Ring Light, $28.00. A Buildable Liquid Highlighter For Dewy Skin

Brightening serum with hyaluronic acid and aloe.
Available in three shades: Golden, Moonlight and Peachy.

A liquid highlighter, described as giving a buildable but natural looking luminosity. Skincare ingredients include hyaluronic acid, silica and aloe.

As far as liquid highlighters go, I think this is the easiest I’ve ever had one blend on me. These days I don’t tend to reach for a highlighter, instead preferring a general dewy vibe but this might just change my mind.

It did in fact sink into my skin and blend out, rather than being a shiny streak or something that disrupts the makeup underneath. Very very nice indeed.

The Primers: Very Glowy And Very Mattifying, $48.00

Already released, they have both a matte and glowy finish primer.

My very first impression? This all makes a lot of sense to me.

My Thoughts on the Go-To Makeup Launch

This is absolutely makeup for people that are skincare first, which I am not surprised about at all. The colour palette is natural without being boring and you have a lot of forgiveness in the formulas, they are very ‘throw on and go’ which I like.

It feels like they have absolutely hit the mark in that the products make a lot of sense for the brand, perform really well and are instant staples I can see myself reaching for over and over again.

Expect to see a lot more of this range…
