Let’s take it back to 2015 YouTube and do a written word favourites video.
Monthly favourites remain of my favourite things to watch on the internet but in terms of creating, they’re a little harder for me.
I would love to be the type of organised creator that can film a monthly favourites video at the end of every month but alas, sometimes I don’t think to do it until the next month is halfway through.
That’s why I try to do quarterly roundups of things I’ve been loving – still fun, but less commitment.
Holme Beauty Stay Glaze in “Annabelle”, $49 from Holme Beauty

Holme Beauty is a brand I have loved since the first time I tried their products.
Stay glaze is a newer launch that I fell head over heels in love with. It’s like a hybrid lip stain/ lipstick sort of vibe that goes on glossy and will last without reapplication for as long as you want it to. I tend to work 8-to-10-hour shifts as a pharmacist so I love beauty products that don’t need topping up and this is that.
Essence 8H Matte Comfort Lipliner in “Chestnut Perfection”, $3.50 from Priceline

This is a gorgeous lip liner formula; it’s creamy, goes on smooth and because it’s a wind-up, doesn’t need sharpening. Chestnut perfection is a gorgeous dark brown, reminiscent of an espresso.
Tower 28 Beach Please Lip + Cheek Cream Blush in “Power Hour”, $35 from Mecca

All of these blush shades are super easy to wear, very creamy, slightly glossy and they’re buildable so they work for any look you’re trying to achieve. On my skin, power hour is like a terracotta hued pink shade and I prefer to apply directly onto my cheeks with my fingers.
Merit The Minimalist in “Sepia”, $61 from Merit

I fell for the hype when Merit launched in Australia but the hype was 100% necessary. This was the only complexion product I took overseas for a month and it was perfect. I love how smoothly it applies, how skin-like the finish is and I love how versatile the application is – on some days, I would apply all over the face, on others, just under my eyes and every time, the result was perfect.
Merit Satin Signature Lip in “Millenial”, $42 from Merit

Merit’s lipstick formulas are famously perfection and the signature lip is no different.
It’s creamy and sheeny and lightweight and it never bunches up. Millenial is a classic pink shade that when used with a dark brown lip liner has become an integral part of my signature lip combo.
Kosas Cloud Set Translucent Loose Setting & Blurring Powder in “Translucent Peachy”,$66.00

I bought this because the loose powder I use at home no longer closes properly and would have made a mess of all my luggage. This not only met my expectations, it exceeded them.
As a combo-skin girly, it hasn’t been easy for me to find 1 product that could set my under-eyes without drying them out too much whilst setting the rest of my face enough that I wouldn’t be a ball of grease at the end of the day.
This powder is that and more. Translucent Peachy is bright enough to highlight and it may just be my eyes but I swear there’s like very faint flecks of highlighting going on in there too. It blurs, mattifies without flattening and there’s no flashback. I’m in love.
Nyx The Brow Glue, $17 from Priceline

It only took 3 years of my little sister saying this was her favourite brow gel for me to listen and I wish I’d picked this up sooner.
If you want your brows to look laminated, not be too shiny, not have any flakes in them and also last through a storm – this is the brow gel for you. I kid you not, I have worn this through rain, sweat and snow and she held up beautifully.
It’s available from Priceline, Chemist Warehouse and Adore Beauty, and it goes on sale frequently.
