Let’s take it back to 2015 YouTube and do a written word favourites video.
Monthly favourites remain of my favourite things to watch on the internet but in terms of creating, they’re a little harder for me.
I would love to be the type of organised creator that can film a monthly favourites video at the end of every month but alas, sometimes I don’t think to do it until the next month is halfway through.
That’s why I try to do quarterly roundups of things I’ve been loving – still fun, but less commitment.
The Breakout Hack x Hannah Collingwood English Rebound Skin Milk Activated Cica Toner, $29.95

The rebound skin milk really is as good as you think it will be. Milky toners have been a ‘thing’ in the eastern beauty space for years now and it seems like western beauty is finally catching up.
This milky toner goes beyond just being an amazing lightweight way to hydrate your skin, it’s packed full of ingredients to help soothe your skin and build your barrier back up.
She’s a toner that works hard so that you don’t have to and it’s gentle enough to use no matter what fragile state your skin might be in.
Available from The Breakout Hack, Priceline, Adore Beauty, Coles and Woolies.
Naturium Phyto-Glow Lip Balm, $20.95 from Naturium

Due to the sheer size and prominence of my lips, I have never been able to deal with feeling chapped or crusty. My ideal lipbalm is a little glossy, spreadable, and plush feeling.
These are that, plus the 3 I received are tinted so they’re all I need for a gorgeous lip combo. I know you have seen this brand everywhere and sometimes hype feels manufactured but in Naturium’s case, that’s not what’s happening.
The brand truly is that good.
Innisfree Retinol Cica Focusing Patch, $40 from Innisfree

When it comes to pimple patches, you either get it or you don’t Me and my skin absolutely get it. I get semi-frequent breakouts usually for no real reason at all and their form changes so I try to always keep both regular patches and microdart patches on me.
These are technically a micro-dart patch for under-the-skin pimples but they also work incredibly well on any of my pimples that have a head. I am not exaggerating when I say that these patches have completely gotten rid of a whitehead overnight.
Available from Innisfree, Adore Beauty, Sephora or Priceline
Natio Glow Brighter Skin Refining Toner, $19.95

My combination skin is incredibly picky with toners, especially toning mists. I have tried and not loved other fan favourites but this new mist from Natio Beauty’s Glow line is an absolute beauty.
It’s packed with antioxidants to help your skin glow from within, the mist atomiser is one of the finest I’ve ever seen, it’s lightweight but hydrating and the packaging is so cute.
Plus I love how affordable and accessible the brand is.
Natio Aromatherapy Daily Invigorating Body Wash, $22.95

I love everything citrusy and using this shower gel is one of the most immersive citrus experiences you can have outside of a spa. This is a gentle, lightweight body wash that doesn’t irritate my skin, cleanses very well, and smells downright edible.
I am currently on my 4th bottle of this and I do have 2 back-ups ready to go at any time.
Available from Natio, David Jones and Myer
The Breakout Hack Skincare No Scrubs Jelly Cleanser, $32.95

TLC wasn’t singing about this product because I will forever want ‘no scrubs’ and it gets infinite love from me. I will be the first to say that I was sceptical about the texture because it looks like a jelly in the packaging, and it kind of feels like one.
This is a thick jelly that when you rub it in melts into a thick oil that can break down even the most stubborn makeup.
It emulsifies really well, doesn’t sting my eyes, leaves not film when rinsed off and the packaging means its perfect for no-mess application and travelling. This is the kind of innovation that beauty consumers deserve.
Available from The Breakout Hack, Priceline, Adore Beauty, Coles and Woolies
Caudalie Vinoperfect Serum, from $121

Post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation always tries to ruin my life and I was blessed with the kind of skin that scars after every breakout. I have tried many products to help with this and would probably only repurchase and recommend a handful. This is one of them.
It’s expensive but absolutely so worth it.
I always try to buy the 50mL bottle when it’s available or pick-up a bottle during a sale because it has genuinely made such an impact on the severity of my dark spots.
Sol De Janeiro Bom Dia Bright™ Body Wash, from $43

Sticking with the hyperpigmentation train, I have started incorporating more treatment steps into my body care routine ever since a 3 week hive fest left me splotchy all over.
This body wash is in the delicious 40 scent [think: creamy vanilla clouds, musky orchids and plums], and it contains multiple chemical exfoliants to help smooth and brighten the skin.
Using this in the shower has made every shower feel a little more like an indulgent self care experience and I love that for me.
Urban Jungle Midas Touch Body Lotion, $38

Another beautifully smelling product with some actives in it. This is a moisturiser with the perfect texture – it’s like a plush cream texture that sinks in so well and has like a sheen to it on the skin.
It smells vaguely tropical and creamy but not in an overwhelming way and contains niacinamide to brighten, glycerin for hydration and apricot seed oil to help soften the skin.
As soon as I finish my current bottle, I’m going to repurchase this and the body wash because they’re both incredible products.
$38 from Urban Jungle Beauty or Sephora
Muji Moisturising Milk (Light), $19.95

Muji isn’t known for their skincare products but they make some of my holy grail affordable finds.
This is like a very thick milky toner that I use as a post-shower body serum before I moisturise or as an easy reach face toner.
It’s a huge 400mL bottle so no matter how you’re using it, it’ll last forever and it’s made such a difference to the hydration levels of my skin as it’s gotten colder.
