Products I’ve Been Loving Lately (From An Acne-Prone Beauty Blogger Who Tries Too Much Skincare)
As someone who tests a lot of skincare (seriously, my beauty room shelf looks like a mini Chemist Warehouse), I wanted to share a few products, both new finds and old flames, that have stood out recently.
If you're curious about what’s actually earning a spot in my routine right now, let’s jump in!
A313 Vitamin A Retinol Cream Tube, $38.99
This is a newer one for me, but I wanted to include it because it’s been a great way to reintroduce Vitamin A into my routine.
A313 has that iconic, slightly medicinal French pharmacy vibe.
It’s gentle but effective, and doesn’t make my skin feel tight or angry the next day. I’ll share a more thorough update once I’ve used it for a few more weeks.
What’s a great sign? When I posted about this product, my DMs filled with others who swear by it, all from women who share my skin type.
Maybe this is the Vit A i’ve been searching for that i’ll never have to take a break from? Stay tuned.
Boring Without You Make Me Wet™ Hydrating Milk Serum, $44.99
This one’s been a bit of a quiet achiever in my routine- meanwhile- it’s going ridiculously viral online.
The Milk Serum is super hydrating, with a gentle touch of PHA (gluconolactone) that subtly smooths the skin over time.
What I love most?
It layers beautifully under makeup. No pilling. No greasiness. Just soft, juicy skin. Plus the bottle is huge and the pump is easy to use.

Garnier Pure Active Pimple Patch, $11.00
Okay, let’s be honest. I’m a skin picker.
It’s not a habit I’m proud of, but we’re being real here because pretending it doesn’t happen just makes everyone feel even worse.
These new pimple patches from Garnier are invisible. Like, wear-them-in-daylight and/or under makeup invisible.
They’ve genuinely helped me stop touching breakouts, and I’m keen to dive deeper into their performance.
A full review is coming soon because these deserve more airtime at the $11ish price point.
Laneige Water Bank Blue Hyaluronic Cream, $57.00
An old faithful that’s back in rotation.
I’ve loved this moisturiser for years.
It’s the right amount of creamy that doesn’t freak out acne-prone skin, but it’s also hydrating, and always leaves my skin feeling soft, not sticky.
Every time I go back to it, I’m reminded why it’s a cult favourite.
Thirsty Turtl Pacific Dusk Overnight Barrier Cream, $65.00
At first, I wasn’t sure this was going to suit my skin type.
But oh wow.
This barrier cream is lush. It’s deeply soothing and has become my nightly comfort product.
It smells a bit like the ocean. Fresh, calming, not overpowering. If your skin’s been acting up or feeling overwhelmed, this might be your next pick.
