Dermal Therapy Tinted Lip Balm Review
This launch came just in time, in my lip-balm-loving opinion, read on for my Dermal therapy tinted lip balm review.
The Dermal Therapy tinted lip balms are based on the Original, best selling Lip Balm formula.
The Original is a perfect pick year-round for those of us with perpetually dry lips, the tinted versions are especially welcome in the warmer months when many opt for lighter, more sheer makeup picks and avoid layering.
Formula And Ingredients
I’ll say I’m thrilled with how they’ve nailed the formula of the original lip balm.
If you haven’t used the original formula before, It’s rich in ingredients known for their hydrating properties and ability to lock in moisture, while staying thin with fantastic slip.
The hero ingredients include:
- Petroleum to lock in moisture
- Cocoa seed butter for softness and protection
- Lanolin for conditioning
- Urea and stearic acid to help smooth and hydrate
These ingredients work together to soothe dry, chapped lips while preventing moisture loss.
The tinted versions add a wash of colour without compromising what people love about the original.
There is a light fragrance, and clove leaf oil gives a subtle tingle. It feels refreshing rather than irritating, but worth noting if you dislike any menthol-style sensation on the lips.

One of the things I love most is how comfortable they feel on the lips.
They’re long-lasting formulas but thin texture and no dry-down, which is kind of unheard of in the lip balm world.
Most importantly, they have absolutely no stickiness, which is something we can all appreciate.
Dermal Therapy Tinted Lip Balm Rose Pink, $8.99
The shades vary in pigmentation, though each is sheer leaning.
Rose Pink is surprisingly flattering, even for someone like me, whose natural lip tone leans a bit purple.
Often, I worry pink shades will clash with my undertones, but this one is genuinely lovely.
Dermal Therapy Tinted Lip Balm Cherry Red, $8.99
Cherry Red is a true blue-based red and bold even when sheerly worn. It’s the most pigmented of the three.
It’s absolutely flattering still, but not my go-to shade.
Dermal Therapy Tinted Lip Balm Peach Nude, $8.99
By far, my favourite is Peach Nude; it’s the perfect balance of colour and softness.
It’s also not too coral or peachy, and has the perfect sheerness to let some of my natural lip colour shine through.
For reference, I have classic light-neutral skin with an olive undertone.
Dermal Therapy Tinted Lip Balm Review Final Verdict
If I could ask for anything more, I’d love to see them expand the range with a light nude, a medium nude, and a dark nude. Wouldn’t that be lovely?
I’m chuckling to myself as I write that because I know the team has worked ridiculously long on this launch and being able to have a true-to-original formula.
It’s hard to get it right while having the pigment suspended properly at the right pigment level.

But, I do know the Dermal Therapy team can do it, because they did it! So I’ll put it out into the world anyway.
Great launch, a 10/10 product. I do recommend them.
