If your goal is to work with brands, you need a media kit to show that you are serious about your content creation career. This is your resume to showcase your personal brand and what you can offer.
Remember who you are writing this media kit for – brands!
Every word you write needs to be written as if you are convincing a brand executive that you are the right person for their paid job.
Free Media Kit Templates For Content Creators
Design something professional, simple, and unique to your personal brand. I have an article where I share my serious blunders with media kit creation. I wish I kept it simple from the start.

Canva has amazing templates, both free and paid. Search “Media Kit” on the template page or click the link. I suggest finishing the article before being sold on a template – because many templates have lots of fluff you don’t need.
I’d personally recommend these (also free from Canva), but I’d edit the font to be more professional and sleek:
- White & beige chic influencer media kit
- Pink & white cute influencer media kit
- White & beige modern influencer media kit
You can also purchase downloadable templates off Etsy if nothing on Canva is vibing with you.
What To Include In A Media Kit
- Your display picture. Include a photo of you, preferably your display picture on your socials. Brands like to know who they are talking to. If you don’t want to show your face, use a photo that’s identifiable across your social media channels.
- Include your username(s), platform(s), and contact information. Contact information is typically your email. (Note: Create a dedicated email for your content creation, don’t use your personal email.)
- A short and snappy About Me section. One paragraph that highlights your personal brand and content pillars (for example, niche – beauty, makeup, fashion, etc.).
- Statistics. Including: Engagement rate, follower count, average post likes and comments, average story views, and audience demographics percentage – women vs men, top three age brackets, and top three countries. Here’s how to find your account insights on Instagram.
- Previous collaborations or work. List at least three brands you’ve worked with or share a testimonial from a brand.
- Imagery! Three photos of your favourite content you’ve created – show your strengths.
All About Your Engagement Rate
Your engagement rate calculation is: (Likes + comments + shares ÷ followers) × 100 = engagement rate.
Most creators use the average of their last five posts to make this calculation and update their engagement rates every three or more months (this is more crucial if you’re growing).
Example: A recent SPF review of mine got 159 likes, 39 comments, and 18 shares = 216.
216 ÷ 7,866 (my follower count) = 0.027
0.027 × 100 = 2.75%
Therefore, I can say the engagement rate on that post is 2.75%.
By finding the average of multiple posts, I can find a more accurate representation of my engagement rate.
It’s an imperfect estimate, ultimately, because multiple steps of engagement can come from one follower.
My take? Just use the calculator below – brands know it’s not exact! Even engagement calculators widely vary. I’ve found Modash to be the most accurate. Check out the Modash engagement rate calculator here.

Where To Put Your Rates In A Media Kit
What to charge is a big question and needs its own article. If you are wondering about what to charge but haven’t yet started relationship building with brands, that’s a better place to start.
Tip: Make your rates a separate document or page. I’ve personally found that making a rate card is more advantageous, as you can decide whether to send it or not.
You can also quote based on what a brand is asking. On your rate card, have rates for:
- Reel (brands don’t typically distinguish between length unless above 60 seconds)
- Static post
- Carousel post (multiple still images)
- Story set (3-5 story slides)
- Single story slide
You are also able to offer packages. This is especially helpful when pitching brands. Packages often discount cost for multiple deliverables and should work best for your channel and strengths.
Example packages may be:
- x1 static post + story set (three slides)
- x1 reel + cover photo for reel + story set (three slides)
- x1 reel + story set (three slides) + x1 static post
- 1 IGTV up to 15 minutes and 1 static slide promoting the video
- UGC creation (photos and/or video)
- Blog and article writing
Essential Final Checks Before Sending Your Media Kit
- Keep it to one to two pages and add a separate page for your rate card.
- Only send your rate card when it is requested.
- Make your media kit easy on the eyes and quick to the point.
- Comic Sans is an unacceptable font in the marketing world (made that mistake a few times!)
- Save your file as a PDF (no exceptions!) with a proper title and date (for example: MinnieMakeup_MediaKit OCT23).
- Attach your media kit to emails and don’t send via DM (unless requested).
When in doubt, make it chic and simple!
